A few months ago I was invited to join the team working to free Tyree Wallace, who is serving life without possibility of parole in the PA prison system for a crime he did not commit. Tyree and I have spoken on the phone or via video-conference on a weekly basis ever since, and the injustice of his situation is particularly maddening.
I’ve been working with former doc filmmaking students of mine at Rutgers' Writers House to create a series of short videos, both to spread awareness of Tyree’s story and help raise some money for his legal defense. With Phiiladephia’s progressive district attorney Larry Krasner now overseeing Tyree’s case, there will never be a better time to push for his exoneration and release, so I was hoping you all could take a look at this clip. It’s three or so minutes long and lays out the details of Tyree’s situation, as well as the great work he’s been doing from inside prison to mentor the young men that come across his path.
Whether you’re up for donating or just share the video with someone who might be interested, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
