BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS: A BASKETBALL EXORCISM

Thirty years after Highland Park lost the Central Jersery Basketball Championship to New Brunswick on a last second shot, Filmmaker John Hulme returns to confront the issues of Race, Class and Religion that simmered below the surface of the game - and how they still ripple through today.

Twenty seven years ago, Cassius “Money” Hargrove, a fourteen year-old freshman from New Brunswick, NJ, broke Highland Park High School’s (and my) heart with his cold-blooded game-winner in the Central Jersey Group 1 championship.

The story of that game and the racial and socio-economic issues that seethed just below the surface is the subject of my new documentary, “Blood, Sweat & Tears: A Basketball Exorcism,” which is in post-production as we speak.  Trailer below, and hope you enjoy.
